Join a Band
If you would like to join a band and you are at school or are just starting university, please contact the AYSB's band manager Dianne at aysb@aysb.org. Don't forget to check out the AYSB on Facebook.
If you have been playing for a while and are at a grade 6+ standard, or if you are over 18, please contact the AWO's band manager Bronwyn at awo@aysb.org. Don't forget to check out the AWO on Facebook.

We have a number of band instruments available for hire: alto, bass, and contra-alto clarinets, bassoons, alto, tenor, and baritone saxophones, EEb, CC and BBb tubas, horns, euphoniums, baritones, trombones, oboes, cor anglais, and percussion instruments including timpani. Hire charges are reasonable and duration is flexible.
Please contact us at info@aysb.org to hire an instrument. Remember to include your name, mailing address, phone number, instrument and duration of hire in your request.
Members of the AWO are eligible for a discount on instrument hire, and AYSB players may hire a band instrument free of charge.
Support or Sponsor the AYSB
Any financial support you are able to share with AYSB Inc. is greatly appreciated. Your support typically goes to the following:
purchasing new music (more than $300 per piece);
providing parts for each player;
maintaining and purchasing instruments;
hiring rehearsal venues each week;
hiring concert venues.
If you would like to sponsor a piece of music, please do either of the following:
Pay into the AYSB Bank Account 12-3039-0846023-00 using your surname and 'AYSB friend' in the code and reference fields respectively.
Get in touch with our treasurer, president, or a music director directly, and pass on cash straight to them - this way means that a receipt will take longer to get to you.
AYSB Inc. is a registered charity and will provide you with a receipt for tax purposes.
Sponsorship
If you would like to sponsor the AYSB or AWO, please contact us at sponsorship@aysb.org and we can discuss sponsorship packages.
Packages are entirely customisable, and typically include the following, or a selection thereof:
Logo placement on promotional materials;
Logo placement on online materials including the AYSB Inc. website;
Mentions in social media postings;
Use of AYSB Inc. images for sponsor marketing;
Thanks and honourable mentions at performances;
Free tickets to concerts;
The satisfaction of supporting community music in Auckland City.
